Felicity and Jamie Robertson bring their 12 years experience owning the Nansidwell Hotel on the Helford River in Cornwall, to their bed and breakfast venture next door to St. Ives at Carbis Bay. The villa is also available to rent on a weekly basis (see box below).

RENTING THE HOUSE The House comfortably sleeps 10 to 12 in large light-filled rooms with sweeping seaviews across the bay to St Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse. All five bedrooms have superkingsize double or twin beds with bathrooms ensuite. The dining room and two drawing rooms have stunning seaviews - separate family kitchen and library/snug. Very large garden, barbecue area and parking for four to five cars. Price £2800 per week.

Our aim as always, is to offer a higher standard of accommodation in the relaxed atmosphere of our own home, providing the decorations, service and facilities we like to find when travelling.

The newly renovated 1920’s Cornish villa has large, light and airy rooms with stunning sea views sweeping across the bay from Godrevy Lighthouse, St. Ives to Gwinnith Sands and the Hayle Estuary.    The wide, golden sands of Carbis Bay beach are a 5 minute walk away.  Next door, Porthminster beach has a Blue Flag award for its clean, safe, bathing waters and adjacent to the beach is the Good Food Guide listed Porthminster beach restaurant specialising in local fish. Porthmeor Beach, which lies below the Tate Gallery, is famous for its powerful surf, yet is ideal for non-surfers of all ages.

St. Ives is just 3 minutes by car or a 20 minute walk along the coastal path to Porthminster beach.  Realistically it takes about 30 minutes to walk to the centre of the town and the Tate Gallery.  For those who want to avoid trying  to park in St. Ives there is the gaily painted local train - a three minute journey on the Cornish Riviera line following the coast.from St. Ives to Penzance. .Exploring the cobbled streets and secret alley ways with their many interesting and varied galleries, shops, cafes and restaurants, it is easy to understand why so many painters, sculptors and writers chose and still choose, to live here.

	All rooms have sea views, their own private bathroom with good-sized bath, T.V. and all the personal touches one would expect such as fresh flowers, books and magazines. All our beds are super king sized (twins and doubles) with Egyptian cotton linen and  goose down duvets. Although we do not provide an evening meal there are a number of excellent and varied places to try.  St. Ives has always been renowned as a fishing village and boats still fill the harbour with Smeaton’s Pier the preserve of the town’s fishing community.  Fish are landed, nets are mended and the community provide fresh local seafood to the many acclaimed local restaurants and pubs in the area.
